Philosophies

Sans titre, 2014, avec l’aimable autorisation de Nicolas Roggy

Philosophies is a poetic and mystical oratorio from the 21st century. A creation by composer Hana Ajiashvili for French tenor Benjamin Alunni and United Instruments of Lucilin, on texts celebrating poets and thinkers across languages – English, French, Hebrew, Persian and Arabic – and spanning the centuries.
By including these new pieces alongside repertoire works, this oratorio follows a human soul in search of the wisdom of these thinkers to find its own balance, both spiritual and rational.
Created with librettist Royce Vavrek, Philosophies is a journey from obscurantism to enlightenment, a contemporary performance that digs into the past to offer a path to the future.

Zylan ne chantera plus

In 2021, after the pandemic, we were proud to give birth to « Zylan will not sing anymore »: an opera creation for one singer, percussion, electric guitar and cello from a real story about homophobia. One of the goal of this new opera work was that it could be performed where opera doesn’t usually take place like high schools, prisons, college, hospital, etc.

Anochecer en España

“This Anochecer in España – this evening in Spain – offers exciting possibilities of travels tras los montes, towards the eternal myths and spells of the country of Don Quixote – the idealistic and poetic dreamer – Don Juan – the tireless seducer who gets burned because he’s lived his life of pleasure and opposition to established order too intensely – or else Carmen – the rebellious Andalucian cigar-maker, the icon of emancipated women – but also towards sun, heat, light, and the bygone past which never stops living on through costumes, festivities, songs and dances, the true cement of a proud people, aware of its own vigour – towards southern regions on the shores of the Mediterranean, reaching towards nearby Africa and its bewitching mysteries…”
Collaboration with Musicologist Stephan Reims Champagne-Ardenne University.

Confluence{s)

The Confluence{s} project explores with unprecedented depth the various facets of Jewish cultures, through the concept of “Mélodie française”. This recital is the fruit of research into little-known or under-appreciated repertoires; it is the result of a creative process combining the folkloric melodies of Israel’s pioneers, pieces from a classical repertory, and contemporary music. The double album recording is available
